Edwin Espinal
29-year old Edwin Espinal (198-SF-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Immortals and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Capitanes (#3, 3-3) 101-93. It allowed Immortals to consolidate first place in the Dominican Rep. league. Immortals have a solid 5-1 record. In the team's last game Espinal had a remarkable 52.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Immortals, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Edwin Espinal averages this season 17.0ppg and 7.4rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Oliver Ferreira (189-G-1993) of Capitanes. He is a guard in his first season at Capitanes. In the last game Ferreira recorded impressive 30 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Capitanes lost that game 93-101 to slightly higher-ranked Immortals (#1, 5-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in West. Capitanes still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 3-3 record is not bad at all. Ferreira is one of the most experienced players at Capitanes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.0ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 6.5rpg and 5.2apg.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Ralph Bellamy (193-F) of Del Patio (#4). Bellamy got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds . He was a key player of Del Patio, leading his team to a 92-90 win against #1 ranked Fenix. The chances of Del Patio not to end season at such low position in West, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Bellamy could try to bring Del Patio's a little bit higher in the standings. Bellamy has individually a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.5rpg (6th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
